Children have wonderful imaginations, are creative and have their own unique personalities. All of these can be used when decorating their bedroom. Get them involved, it is a great opportunity to spend some time with your little one and ultimately you will learn more about them. Remember though that your child is going to grow up not just physically but mentally too and their likes and dislikes will change rapidly as the years go by. Be open to suggestions but make sure you create a room not just for now but for the future too. Look to the future
Your children are growing up every second and what they might like today may not be what they like tomorrow. They are changing their interests on a daily basis. It is really important to remember this when designing your child’s room. Look towards the future and think, ‘will they still like this room in a few years to come?’ If the answer is yes you will be saving a lot of money and will get to enjoy your hard work for that little bit longer.
Neutral walls
Most of the time with walls it is best to keep them pretty neutral. This then means that the wall can act as a blank canvas for any art, furnishings or decorative pieces to go into the room.
If you love the idea of getting creative with colour, then having a feature wall could be a good idea for you. If your child has a particular interest that you feel could last, your feature wall theme could work around this adding a personalised touch to your child’s bedroom.
